Dr. Salim Hariri

Dr. Salim Hariri, PhD – CEO- Dr. Hariri has over 20 years of experience in technology development. He is also a full professor and director of the NSF-funded Center for Cloud and Autonomic Computing.He founded the IEEE/ACM International Symposium on High Performance Distributed Computing, or HPDC, and is the co-founder of the IEEE/ACM International Conference on Cloud and Autonomic Computing. Dr. Hariri is the editor-in-chief of the scientific journal Cluster Computing (*Springer, http://clus.edmgr.com), which presents “research and applications in parallel processing, distributed computing systems and computer networks.” Additionally, he co-authored five books on autonomic computing, and parallel and distributed computing. Dr. Hariri is a founder of AVIRTEK, a startup Cybersecurity company from the NSF CAC center at UA. AVIRTEK that received more than 3.6 million dollars in DoD funding to develop innovative autonomic cyber security products and services. He has led the development of AVIRTEK Automated and Integrated Management (AIM) products that are currently being deployed commercially.

Dr. Nimit Agarwal

Dr. Nimit Agarwal, MD FACP – Co-Founder – Dr. Agarwal has over 10 years of experience practicing geriatric medicine in the United States. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, with sub-specialization in Geriatrics. Dr. Agarwal leads the Geriatrics Division as Division Chief at the University of Arizona-College of Medicine Phoenix and associated Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix (BUMCP). He has been involved with several initiatives for improving transitions of care for elderly patients. He was the PI at BUMCP for Project ACHIEVE, a multimillion-dollar PCORI sponsored multisite study. He leads a team championing delirium management in the elderly at BUMCP and has been able to mobilize hospital leaders to support geriatric-focused care at the institution. He is working on acquiring a Geriatric Emergency Department accreditation for the hospital (and the first in Arizona) and has successfully received NICHE (Nurses Improving Care of Healthsystem Elders) Certification for BUMCP. He follows and teaches the “The 5 M’s of Geriatrics” as noted by Health in Aging foundation from American Geriatrics Society (AGS) focusing on Mind, Mobility, Medication, Multi-complexity and Matters Most for person-centered care. Dr. Agarwal is a member of the American Geriatrics Society and passionately advocates for making a difference in the lives of our seniors.  

Dr. Samer Darwich

Dr. Samer Darwich, MD – SevaTechnology – Dr. Darwich has over 10 years of experience practicing as a General Internal Medicine in Ireland, and has also help the position of Medical Director of Sunbury Medical Center in Ireland He has a significant clinical knowledge and experience in Geriatrics and Home Healthcare for different patient’s population including home bound elderly patients. Over the years, he has cared for patients with Alzheimer’s Disease and Delirium. Dr. Darwich’s current role is a clinical instructor at the University of Arizona, College of Medicine Tucson. He is also an attending physician- CUP clinic at Banner University Medical Center-Tucson. Dr. Darwich is a member of the Royal College of Physicians, American College of Physicians and Royal Society of Critical Care Medicine. His role will be to coordinate and connect the medical perspective of SeVA between College of Medicine physicians and College of Engineering engineers. He will also be responsible for creating the business and marketing strategy related to clinical aspects of SeVA.

Carlos “Art” Nevarez​

Carlos “Art” Nevarez: Mr. Nevarez is BPU Holding’s Chief Technology Officer and the designated representative to collaborate with development of the proposed AEI-based SeVA technology. He has over 30 years of commercial technology development experience in both the hardware and software industry. Since early on in his career Mr. Nevarez has worked in automation, and robotic-type applications as well as frameworks and systems development. At Eaton-Kenway, he developed industrial robotic applications (Ford Motors, Dupont, General Dynamics, Rolls-Royce to name a few), many of which have similar requirements and regulations for privacy and for performance as with medical applications. At Novell, Inc., Mr. Nevarez was Chief Architect, focused on the development of networks, operating systems, and frameworks for developers. At BPU Holding’s, he leads the development of all technology and has been the driving force behind the development of the Artificial Emotional Intelligence platform (AEI).
